Mountain to the Beach


After breakfast you will check-out. At about 0800 hrs you will meet your tour guide who will escort you to the waiting 4 wheel drive which you will embark upon for a 4 days soft adventure tour. You will drive past the airport towards the batinah region. You will first visit the vegetable and fruit market in Barkha to see the market life in Oman, from here drive to Nakhl . Visit the Nakhal Fort. This fort once served the Imams of Bani Kharous and the Ya'arubah dynasty. After recent restoration work carried out, it is refurbished with the traditional furniture, Handicrafts and historic relics. The ceilings, the doors and the windows are decorated with beautiful carvings. The view from the roof-top is very impressive and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The old village of Nakhl, which nestles below the fort, gradually leads to the famous warm springs of Nakhl situated at the end of an attractive Oasis. Relax by the side of the shallow waters of the springs surrounded by lush green date plantations and steep mountain peaks. After the visit proceed to village of Bilad Sait through the foot hills of Jabal Akdhar Mountain. You can enjoy lunch in a local restaurant or carry your picnic lunch box ( direct payment). Cross the mountain and arrive at Al Hamra and proceed to Jabal Shams.

0900 Hrs - Muscat- City Tour After breakfast you will checkout and explore the various villages scattered around on the mountain and also see the grand canyon before driving down to Nizwa. You will drive to the Oasis city of Nizwa and then continue on a tour of the Nizwa fort with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'aruba to defend the route to the interior. The fort dominates the entire area with the town having grown around the edifice. Access to the top is possible only by means of a narrow, twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors, studded with metal. From the top of the tower one can get a bird's eye view of the Nizwa city. From here you will proceed to the Nizwa Souq which is renowned for its intricately hand-carved Khanjar and ornately designed silver Jewelry. Here on a Friday a unique goat and cattle auction is held. The atmosphere here is electric. Continue your drive after this visit to the desert en-route passing several small towns. You will arrive at Ibra town for a late lunch break ( on direct payment).

After lunch proceed to Wahiba Sands which is the home of Bedouins. On arriving at the entrance of the desert whilst you can stretch yourself, the guide will deflate the tyre and refuel if required before proceeding inside the desert. Continue your journey of approx 35 kms inside the desert to the 1000 nights camp. On arrival you will check in to your tents.

The 'Wahiba Sands' often described as a perfect example of Sand Sea consists of large ranges of dunes running from North to South, some attaining a height of about 100 mts and orange in colour. Our experienced drivers will take you on a dune bashing tour through the undulating sand dunes to experience the thrills of dune driving. Arrive at the pre arranged camp site for overnight.

Later check-out and proceed to meet a Bedouin family before bidding boodbye to the desert inhabitants and proceed to Wadi Bani Khalid, which stands out like an oasis in the desert with clear green natural spring water pools, before continuing to the Wahiba Sands which stands out in stark contrast to Wadi Bani Khalid , After spending some time here proceed to Sur town . After a quick visit continue your drive to Ras Al Hadd. On arrival check-in at the Ras Al Hadd Beach Hotel. Evening after dinner ( direct payment) proceed to for the famous turtle beach to watch turtles laying their eggs and nesting.

Breakfast at the hotel, check and depart for Muscat. Today’s tour along the coast line from Sur to Quriyat offer a breath taking glimpses of the blue waters of the gulf of Oman that offsets pristine white beaches. Proceed to Wadi Tiwi for a short walk in the village and see the omani village houses. After spending some continue drive to You will make a stop at Bimah Sinkhole a crater in the ground where you could see green water pool where the underground water connects to the sea. After a stop here, you could also use the rest rooms here before getting back to the 4 wheel drives and proceeding to cross over the mountain to Wadi Al Arbeen, in the back drop of the mountain this wadi looks stunning, it is here where you can enjoy your picnic lunch ( on direct payment). After having enjoyed the lunch you will continue your drive to Muscat. On arrival either proceed to airport for return flight or beach hotel for extension
